Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 13, 2026

In short: I Love Vinyls keeps your collection on your own device. We don't run servers that store your data, we don't have accounts, and we don't collect, sell, or share your personal information.

Information stored on your device

Your collection — folders, saved records and their metadata (artist, album, year, label, format, barcode), and cached cover images — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no ability to access it. Deleting the app removes this data.

Camera

The app uses your camera only to scan the barcode on a record sleeve. Scanning is processed on your device; camera images are never stored or transmitted anywhere.

Discogs

To identify records, the app sends the barcode or search text you enter to the Discogs catalog API and shows you the results (metadata and cover art). If you choose to connect your own Discogs account, sign-in uses Discogs' secure OAuth flow — you log in on Discogs' own website, and the app receives an access token that is stored securely in your device's Keychain. We never see your Discogs password. Your use of Discogs is governed by Discogs' Privacy Policy. This app is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discogs.

No tracking or advertising

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not build a profile of you and there are no ad or tracking SDKs in the app.

No account with us

There is no account to create with us and we do not collect your email or other identifiers. The only sign-in is your optional connection to your own Discogs account, described above.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
